Internal Mechanism: The heart of the piece is an 18-note miniature mechanical movement manufactured by Sankyo, a world-renowned Japanese musical movement company established in 1946. The core components visible include the pinned cylinder, comb teeth, spring casing, and governor gear.

Lid Feature: The inside of the lid contains a small square bezel designed to hold a miniature photograph, turning the keepsake into a personal memento locket.

Exterior Shell: These specific miniature models were commonly produced by vintage silver novelty companies (such as the Reo Company). They feature a protective .925 sterling silver casing wrapped around the Japanese inner movement.

Functionality: A small winding key is located on the back or bottom exterior of the case. When wound, the music plays automatically when the front button latch releases the hinged lid.
