Classic Burkhardt sterling silver hinged bangle, likely crafted in Toronto between the 1950s and 1970s. Original safety chain and botanical engraving beautifully preserved piece of Canadian Mid-Century jewelry history.

Safety Chain: This is a major plus for collectors. Many vintage bangles lost their safety chains or had them broken over the decades. Having the chain intact means the piece is in its original, structurally complete condition.

The Floral Motif: Delicate, hand-chased or engraved floral patterns on the front face were Burkhardt's signature style. They represent the high-quality craftsmanship the Toronto studio was famous for.

The Engraved First Name: During the mid-20th century, these high-end sterling silver bangles were prestigious gifts for major milestones like 16th birthdays, graduations, or weddings. Personalizing the inside with a first name or initials was a very common tradition. The name Myra engraved on the inside adds a wonderful piece of historical context to the bracelet. This name was at its peak of popularity in North America precisely during the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s.
